The Douglas Jackson Group
Since its foundation in the mid 1930′s the Douglas Jackson Group of Loss Adjusters and Marine Surveyors has established and maintained a reputation for professionalism and reliability in the field of Loss Adjustment, Marine Claims and Risk evaluation. They remain completely independent of outside investment interests.
This reputation has been built on the corner-stone of Group policy, which is to recruit personnel with the highest level of professional and practical experience.
The directors and senior staff are thus able to handle a wide range of general case work whilst also practising in their own specialised subjects.
At the same time, all directors and senior staff are directly involved with the day-to-day business of the Group, and instructing Principals thus have access to a service which is at once both highly professional and personal.
Prompt and Accurate Response
When a claim arises, it is not only the adjuster’s professional skills which are tested, but also the Client’s reputation and image. Prompt response and attendance, whilst paramount in minimising potential losses, also protects the goodwill which exists between Insurer and Insured.
In recognising this, the Group accepts that accidents do not respect office hours; thus a vital ingredient of its service is 24-hour availability, coupled with the readiness to travel world-wide at short notice.
In the Carribean in 2004, we provided a catasrophe response team following hurricanes Francis and Ivan.
While it is each adjuster’s aim to reach an early and equitable settlement, it is always borne in mind that enquiries might reveal the need for a persuasive defence to a claim. Thus as a case progresses the situation is constantly monitored, and Principals are kept fully informed with accurate and reliable reporting.
Integrated Administration
The Douglas Jackson Group has recently moved into a new and exciting area of activity with a substantial investment in its administrative base.
Bearing operational costs in mind, the Group has developed a self-contained Claims Management System (CMS) which allows the receipt, recording, adjustment and settlement of claims as part of a sequential computerised process controlled and monitored in-house. This scheme presents extra benefits to Clients, whose own clients business is multiple claims driven, especially captive Insurers, with the removal of several layers of administration by operating a fully delegated claims handling authority service. Recovery of priniples’ losses from responsible third parties is not overlooked and Douglas Jackson has an impressive record of achievements running into many millions of pounds/dollars.
As an additional feature claims can be paid from protected funds managed on behalf of the Client, with full accounting support. Prompt payment also generates further goodwill and enhances the Client’s public image.
Believing strongly that loss prevention has a major contribution to make to their Principals’ profitability, the Douglas Jackson Group undertakes pre-risk surveys, provides security advice and carries out cargo superintendence as part of its loss control function.
The review and evaluation of ceding Insurers’ claims history can also be undertaken upon re-Insurers’ instructions.
The Future
The insurance industry has witnessed major changes in the European and world maps, and contiues in presenting new challenges on a global scale.
In response, the Douglas Jackson Group continues to maintain its worldwide links and is well placed to expand into developing markets on either an ad-hoc basis or through Delegated Authority.
By capitalising on its wealth of experience, the Douglas Jackson Group fulfils it’s aim in providing all its Principals with a dedicated service tailored to individual needs.
